Love to Hatred Turned: Scene 32

After seeing the note, Jen left the room without checking on Sean. He hadn’t seen her, and she did not want to confront him right now. She no longer cared how he was; he’d take care of himself, apparently. She needed to calm down and to think.

Ultimately, she decided that, in the short term, she wouldn’t mention the note and would keep acting exactly the way she had been doing. She needed a solid plan, which she didn’t have, and there were bigger issues right now. In a couple of days, both she and Sean had a meeting arranged with Dave Pritchard and Sharon to arrange Sean’s reintroduction to work.

The medical team thought it was a good idea. Soon he would be off the crutches. The coma had been short, as had the worst of the post-traumatic amnesia, so his cognitive skills were almost back to normal. The only remaining concerns were the blackout episodes. It was the next logical step in Sean’s recovery process.

On the day of the meeting, Sean was up early and dressed with no help or input from Jen. This was a good sign, doubly so, as she discovered he’d also made coffee, just like he used to. The drive into the city was quiet, although that was not unusual. However, she wondered if he was nervous, as he fiddled with the zipper on his briefcase.
